Hi family and friends! I wanted to take the time to answer some of the questions that I have received from people and provide some clarity about what the World Race is and more about what I will be doing this next year!

I am so excited to say that I am two-thirds funded for the World Race and I am so thankful to everyone that has supported me along the way! Your generous donations and prayers are extremely appreciated! I am still seeking support for the next 6,200 dollars that I need to raise for this mission’s work, so your continued support is much appreciated!

The route that I will be on (Global South Route) leaves the country in two and a half months! I can not believe how quickly time has passed and how soon this next part of my life is beginning.

Where will you be going?

This next year I will be going to 11 different countries in the regions of South America, Southeast Asia and Africa. The map attached to this post has noted which countries we have the potential to go to. I am not entirely sure which countries I am going to because everything is so up in the air with COVID regulations, and political unrest in different parts of the world. Although I do know that wherever we end up serving, and if we end up living in less places, that the Lord will use us where we are for his work!

What will you be doing?

This is a great question that again, I do not have a definitive answer to! In every country that I will be living in over this next year, the group I am with will be partnering with different missions’ organizations in each place and doing different work with each one of them. Some examples of the work that we will be doing includes church planting, ministry, discipleship, working with refugees, working at orphanages, and building projects. The overall aim of the World Race is to give support to the long-standing missionaries in each place to help with their diligent work.

Where will you be staying?

Every place that we are going to will have very different accommodations. In some places, we will be staying in host homes of the missions’ partners, other times we will be in hostels, and other countries we will be staying in the tents that we are bringing. The living situation will change drastically between each place that we visit.

How long will you be gone?

I will be out of the country for 11 months! These dates are approximately from August 1st, 2021 to July 1st, 2022! I will have limited connection to making calls/texts over this year, but I am not unreachable! You can still email me, text me via iMessage, or message me over social media even though it might take me awhile to get back to you!

What is the fundraised money going towards?

The money that I am fundraising will cover everything that I am living off of for this year while I am doing this missions work. This includes my food, lodging, transportation, visas, training, ministry support/resources, and everything needed while on the field.

What can you bring with you?

For this year, I will be living out of one backpack! In this backpack I will have a few different layered outfits, a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, my laptop, and a few things from home… and that is about it! It will be a huge adjustment from what I am used to, but I am excited and expectant for what is to come from it!

Please reach out if you have any other questions for me, because I would love to answer them! Again, thank you for all of your continued support!

Love, Claire

  1. Hi Claire,
    Sounds like quite an adventure!
What is the meaning of the the trip name ‘World Race’ in relation to the missionary work you’re going to be doing ?
(In other words, where does the name come from?)
What is the overall mission of your mission?

  2. Hi Michal! That’s a great question. The name of this organization comes from the moving (“racing”) around the world that we will be doing. Throughout the next year we will be going to a few different places while we are doing missions work and the name refers to the movement through countries that we will be doing. The mission of the mission is to serve God, love people well, and being the hands and feet of God’s work while helping the missionaries of the organizations that we are partnering with. I hope that this answers your question!

  3. I can feel your excitement and anticipation as you get closer to launching. I’m excited to see what God has in store for you this coming year.

  4. Definitely it will be a drastic change from life in the good ole’ USA but in the best way possible. You will be totally wrecked for the ordinary!
