One verse that has stuck out to me during this World Race preparation has been Matthew 6:10 which states, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”. Every time I read this verse; I try to imagine what a world would be like if we truly lived in God’s plan for our life.

The world around me has been crazy lately with the most recent upset being the active shooting that occurred in Boulder, CO last week. This devastating loss to the community is a shock that reminds me how much of a fallen world we truly do live in. As our community attempts to reel with this terrible loss and fear that has encircled, I am reminded to find my hope in God’s promises which is the only solid foundation for hope for the future. Romans 12:12 writes, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer”, and this is where I find my hope for the future.

One way that I have been encouraged by the Lord in this season is growing in learning dependence. I am reminded that everything I have is because of what God has given me, and all good things come from Him. Through this fundraising journey, I have grown tremendously in understanding that it is impossible to do this without God.

The Lord has been teaching me a lot about myself throughout this fundraising as well. I have been learning how obedience and thankfulness truly do work hand in hand when following God’s will for my life. This has been a season of learning for me and taking time to listen more than I am speaking as I grow in my faith. This season of growth has been encouraging as I have been surrounded by amazing fellowship. Attached to this post is a photo of the small group that I have been a part of that has been praying for me and encouraging me through this time! I am so thankful for them. I have met with these women since the beginning of last Fall and I am encouraged by their steadfastness as well in this season as they prepare for what is next in their lives as well.

I am beyond thankful to everyone that has supported me as I have prepared for August to come around when I will leave the country! Thank you to everyone who has donated for this mission, prayed alongside of me, and been an encouragement to me as I have been fundraising. I am so thankful to be over halfway funded for the World Race! Again, I am still seeking support to raise the rest of the funds and the best way for support in this way is through prayer, financial support and through references of others who would be interested in hearing about the World Race.

With Love,

Claire

One response to “Obedience”

  1. I LOVE daydreaming about what the kingdom of God will look like when Jesus returns – how things will be different, what will be changed, etc. I also love focusing on what IS living in the kingdom (especially after Karen Dilbeck’s talk and reading her book ‘Start Small’) right now.
